Stenson commits to Rio: 'I'm not afraid of mosquitoes. I'm more afraid of bears'

Welcome news came for golf organizers at the Rio Olympics on Wednesday, as 6th-ranked player in the world, Henrik Stenson, confirmed he will be heading to Brazil, with Zika virus concerns being the least of his worries.

“I’m not afraid of mosquitoes,” Stenson told reporters, ahead of the Scottish Open. “I’m more afraid of bears.”

The 40-year-old Swede – who won his tenth European Tour title at the BMW International Open last month – also said he is not concerned about the Zika virus as he does not plan to have any more children.

“I’ve been looking forward to playing in Rio for quite some time,” he added.

Meanwhile, fellow star Sergio Garcia took to Twitter to share that he will also be playing in Rio, stating the opportunity to represent his country is too great to pass up:
